How Was My Weekend?

Wow. Thanks for asking. That’s so nice of you. =D
Well, to start things off, I had surgery on Thursday. Nothing major. Just had my tubes tied. Five kids is enough I figure. Right? Tell me I’m right and not going to regret this and will eventually stop crying everytime I see my fat belly and realize it’ll never be fat again because there’s a baby growing in it. *sigh*
So I spent the weekend trying to recouperate. The Ol’ Man did a great job taking care of the kids and the house on Thursday but come Friday… he was back to work on the roof. Mama was left to pick up the 300 pound 6 month old when she cried. Then mama cried.
THEN!! hubby cried… He pulled his back during a coughing fit while he was on the roof.
Wait… backup… rewind… Did I tell you guys that hubby ripped the roof off of my house? And then it rained? And then he put some black paper on it? And then it rained? And then he put some shingles on? And then it rained? Bahahaaa I have the worst luck ever. No really! Check out this screen shot from weather.com Care to guess where I live based on the fact that I had no roof during this particular time….

So anyways… Hubby was on the roof and had a severe coughing fit and pulled the muscle across the middle of his back. He can barely move. It’s so bad that last night, he refused to go to the bathroom for fear of getting stuck in there. LOL That’s bad!!!
So anyways… The ol’ man and I spent the weekend walking around the house at the pace of two 90 year olds. Both moaning and groaning the entire time. It was pitiful.
The good news is, I can still sit on my butt here at my desk and not be in pain. Yay for that at least.
Also, this weekend, I released my very first free theme for download. Actually, I released 2 of them. Yippee for me! =D
I submitted them to a contest that’s being held at Free BuddyPress Themes. BuddyPress is a plugin that’s specifically for WordPress Multi-User. It’s actually the plugin that I’m using while creating the social network for parents that I’ve told you all about. (Yes, I’m still working on it whenever I get a spare moment)
But anyways… I released my themes and submitted them to a contest and it would be super awesome if ya’ll could go vote for one of my themes. If I win, I’ll get a free WPMU Premium membership, valued at $250. Yippee again. That’ll totally rock because they have plugins that I’d love to implement into the new social site.
My themes are the TEB themes. TEB is The Easy Button, another of my sites. Personally, I’m kinda partial to the purple theme. Something about it is just kickin. LOL
Ok… so anyways… I’ve jabbered long enough for today. I’ll be posting again either tomorrow or Wednesday, when we get the results of Luigi’s blood test he’ll have done tomorrow. And don’t worry. I plan on going later in the day so we don’t have to deal with the same bull we dealt with last week. What a crock that was!!!
Help Me Help Ya’ll

See those 4 blog ads over in the right column? The ones above the Google box? Well, that’s my way of helping out some of the bloggers I like. Those are only 4 of my ads. They’re set on a rotator and each time you load a new page, you get to see a different set of links. And hopefully, you (and other visitors) occasionally click on those links and check out bloggers you haven’t seen before.
Now, I know that my wee little ads aren’t making the bloggers rich. They might not even be helping them gain subscribers or get more comments on their posts. But, I feel like it’s my little contribution and my way of saying thank you for entertaining me and sharing your life with me.
Last night, I realized that I’d really fallen behind on my duties. I realized how many bloggers were out there that I really liked, but I hadn’t added to the rotator yet. Shame on me!! Shame Shame I say.
So…. I added some new links. But guess what!! Some of the people I wanted to add didn’t have little images. Ugh. Come on people!! I need pictures. How the heck am I going to link to you without a picture? Huh Huh??? Tell me. Come on…… I’m waaaaaaaaiting…..
I do actually send out some traffic believe it or not. By my count, I send out an average of 3 clicks per ad, per day. That’s not bad really for a little ol’ blog like mine IMO.
Wanna see? Do Ya?? Okay, here’s my proof. Here’s a screen shot of the clicks I’ve sent out from the ads over there. This was taken just before I added He Blogs She Blogs, Petra, Putnam, Stacie & Texan Mama last night. Notice how I put those in ABC order? LOL I’m slick like that. That way you don’t think I’m playing favorites.
Also, the counts are actually higher. But I got bored one day and decided to reset the stats. LOL Boredom+Chris=Not Good.
Anyways, here’s the screen shot.
Now… I need your help. I need more images to put over there. Here’s the list I’ve made of the people I’d like to have links from. AND!!!!!!! I may’ve somehow left you out!!! So if I did please tell me!! If I comment on your blog or if you comment here, hollah!!! Seriously!!! Don’t feel silly about requesting a link out. And if you feel weird about requesting it in the comments, then send me an email. I’m chris [at] textimps [dot] com.
Here’s my list of people I need images from. And, feel free to stop at their blog and pester them for me until I get my image!!!!!!!! Also, if you need an image made, let me know. I’ll see what I can do.

Nothin’ goin’ on around here lately. The Ol’ Man has been gone since Monday and right now, he’s 20 miles up the road & sleeping at a truckstop. How horrible is that!?!? 20 itty bitty miles and I can’t see him. If the yard wasn’t all mushy from the rain he’d just pull the semi up into the yard and sleep at home… but nooo…….. dang rain!!!!!
Since I have absolutely nothing to talk about tonight (other than whining that I miss hubby) I figured I’d post some screenshots that I’ve taken over the past month or so.
First up…. we have the stats from one of my website counters.

That wasn’t very impressive but… look what happened when I just tried to upload it to blogger. This is kinda creepy….
(picture goes here but I lost it in an integration)
Alright… this one’s better.

As if the BIG WORDS weren’t bad enough… they go and add ‘Roid LOL
And here’s the last one (because I just realized how bad these pictures look when I use this blogger upload stuff)

Grrrr You can’t even READ that.
What it says is Ticker: Raccoons attack the White House.
When I read this for the first time, I spit Coke On My Keyboard!! Thoughts of Forrest Gump and “Mama just chased them away with a broom” came flooding in.
*** ETA — I feel like I ripped ya’ll off with this post. So I’m going to add more junk to it. See how nice I am. LOL
My cousin just sent this to me a couple minutes ago. I’ve seen it before, but it’s still funny. Thought I’d share in case YOU haven’t seen it.
Barbara Walters, of Television’s 20/20, did a story on gender roles in Kabul, Afghanistan several years before the Afghan conflict.
She noted that women customarily walked five paces behind their husbands.
She recently returned to Kabul and observed that women still walk behind their husbands.
From Ms Walters’ vantage point, despite the overthrow of the oppressive Taliban regime, the women now seem to walk even further back behind their husbands, and are happy to maintain the old custom.
Ms . Walters approached one of the Afghani women and asked, ‘Why do you now seem happy with an old custom that you once tried so desperately to change?’
The woman looked Ms Walters straight in the eyes, and without hesitation said, ‘Land Mines.’
Moral of the story is (no matter what language you speak and where you go):
BEHIND EVERY MAN, THERE’S A SMART WOMAN
Snopes Don’t Fail Me Now

My inbox is often cluttered with e-mails warning about the medicines I should remove from my bathroom, murderers jumping into the back seat of my car while I get fuel and killer clowns hiding in my bedroom. Because of these e-mails, I find myself at Snopes quite often.
For those unfamiliar with Snopes (Where have you been? Stop forwarding this crap to me!!) you can basically search for keywords and they’ll tell you whether it’s accurate information or just more BS that you should ignore.
I was always impressed with the amount of time they put into researching. Until…. today….
Did someone forget to send them the memo??

The world would be a better place if we could all see the world through the eyes of children… and Snopes…
