A Decent Day

First of all - new platelet count is 67,000. Yippee. Up 17k from last week. And the mean lady was not there today. The nice lady was there. I told her what happened last week and she, lied the guy that works there, was all “Omigosh!!” at the size of the needle that woman used. The more I think about it, the more I want to go to her superiors. I really should.. shouldn’t I? The one time they don’t sent out a survey, I would actually like to get one and tell them what a crap job they did.
Anyways…….. I got to see my good friend Becky today. She’s down here from Colorado. Her daughter is pregnant and due tomorrow so she came down for the birth. I can’t wait to show you guys what she brought me. It’s so neat!! And she made it herself.
My plants finally came today. I bought a banana tree, some indoor tomato plants that are suppose to produce all year and some strawberry plants. I was a little upset when I realized it was going to be 3 years before I might possibly get a banana from the tree. I mean, I can kill a plant by looking at it. LOL Luigi said “That’ll be dead in 3 months.” I may’ve been offended if it weren’t true.
Do any of you watch Craig Ferguson? I love that guy! He’s just hysterical. Did anyone see Tuesday night’s episode with Denis Leary? Oh man… just hilarious!!
Let’s see… what else….???
OH!!! Thank you to all of you who went and voted for my themes. =D I really appreciate it. This is gonna be a long 2 weeks waiting for the results.
I think that’s all for now. =D See ya’ll tomorrow when I have pictures of my gift from Becky. Can’t wait Cant wait! =D
Oh wait… Hahaaa.. I forgot to tell you that I’m feeling better and The Ol’ Man can finally walk again. Yippee
How Was My Weekend?

Wow. Thanks for asking. That’s so nice of you. =D
Well, to start things off, I had surgery on Thursday. Nothing major. Just had my tubes tied. Five kids is enough I figure. Right? Tell me I’m right and not going to regret this and will eventually stop crying everytime I see my fat belly and realize it’ll never be fat again because there’s a baby growing in it. *sigh*
So I spent the weekend trying to recouperate. The Ol’ Man did a great job taking care of the kids and the house on Thursday but come Friday… he was back to work on the roof. Mama was left to pick up the 300 pound 6 month old when she cried. Then mama cried.
THEN!! hubby cried… He pulled his back during a coughing fit while he was on the roof.
Wait… backup… rewind… Did I tell you guys that hubby ripped the roof off of my house? And then it rained? And then he put some black paper on it? And then it rained? And then he put some shingles on? And then it rained? Bahahaaa I have the worst luck ever. No really! Check out this screen shot from weather.com Care to guess where I live based on the fact that I had no roof during this particular time….

So anyways… Hubby was on the roof and had a severe coughing fit and pulled the muscle across the middle of his back. He can barely move. It’s so bad that last night, he refused to go to the bathroom for fear of getting stuck in there. LOL That’s bad!!!
So anyways… The ol’ man and I spent the weekend walking around the house at the pace of two 90 year olds. Both moaning and groaning the entire time. It was pitiful.
The good news is, I can still sit on my butt here at my desk and not be in pain. Yay for that at least.
Also, this weekend, I released my very first free theme for download. Actually, I released 2 of them. Yippee for me! =D
I submitted them to a contest that’s being held at Free BuddyPress Themes. BuddyPress is a plugin that’s specifically for WordPress Multi-User. It’s actually the plugin that I’m using while creating the social network for parents that I’ve told you all about. (Yes, I’m still working on it whenever I get a spare moment)
But anyways… I released my themes and submitted them to a contest and it would be super awesome if ya’ll could go vote for one of my themes. If I win, I’ll get a free WPMU Premium membership, valued at $250. Yippee again. That’ll totally rock because they have plugins that I’d love to implement into the new social site.
My themes are the TEB themes. TEB is The Easy Button, another of my sites. Personally, I’m kinda partial to the purple theme. Something about it is just kickin. LOL
Ok… so anyways… I’ve jabbered long enough for today. I’ll be posting again either tomorrow or Wednesday, when we get the results of Luigi’s blood test he’ll have done tomorrow. And don’t worry. I plan on going later in the day so we don’t have to deal with the same bull we dealt with last week. What a crock that was!!!

I’m anxious about Luigi’s blood test on Wednesday. I’m pretty sure his platelet count has risen. His bruises are disappearing and it makes me so happy that he doesn’t look like a victim of child abuse anymore. I can’t wait for him to be able to play outside. He hates being cooped up in the house and in the school. Although he says that he much prefers staying inside and playing a Spongebob computer game all alone in the classroom instead of going out for recess.
I’m so excited that it’s finally warm outside. I absolutely hate winter. I hate being cold. Hate shaving for absolutely no reason cuz as soon as I get out of the shower I’ll get goosebumps and the hair grows back at exponential speeds. I hate the cracked, dry skin. I hate that my kids are always stuck in the house cuz mommy has a fear of pneumonia.
I just typed the word exponential for the first time in my life.
I got another of my websites off the ground yesterday. I’m 4 visitors away from 100 unique visitors since midnight. WooT WooT
I’ve recently become addicted to Twitter. Last night, Annie from Celebrity Apprentice messaged me. ME! And not just once, but twice. Am I super duper special or what? *giggles*
That contest I was talking about has been put on hold. There’s a new version of the software coming out and no point on working with software that’ll be non-existent in a couple of weeks. That’s also putting a hold on our community site for parents. Ugh…
I have some super incredible blogging friends. Your comments have kept my spirits bright during this whole thing with Luigi. Thanks so much!!!
Willie Nelson just stopped singing. Time for me to get up and flip the record over.

I’ve spent the last 2 days dealing with my computer being a piece o’ junk. I’ve done nothing but run scan after scan and install upgrades and patches. I’m about 2 seconds from taking the plunge and reformatting this sucker!!! Or maybe I’ll just take some of this money that The Ol’ Man left here and go buy myself a new computer. *evil grin*
Tuesday night I installed Norton Anti-Virus because of that whole virus scare. I ran one of those 8,291 hour scans and it found 1 cookie tracker (big whoop) and a trojan (eek).
Then I decided that I’d go get another anti-virus software since I really DO need to start protecting my computer. I’m obviously too cheap to pay Norton 100 bucks (or $1 for that matter) so I went and downloaded Avast.
Now, you may notice that I linked to Avast, but not to Norton. There’s a reason. It’s because Norton sucks. Keep in mind that I had already scanned my computer with Norton before I ran the Avast scan. That means it should’ve been clean, right? After all, Norton is expensive and “oh, it’s just the best anti-virus protection you could ever ever buy. Money well spent.” *rolls her eyes*
Avast found 8 more viruses. EIGHT! Eight that Norton missed. See…. free is good. I love Avast.

I just noticed that if you put your mouse over the heart in the comments, there’s a popup that has seizures. I have no idea why it’s doing that and I don’t plan on fixing it. Actually.. it’s kinda fun to play with.
Something else I just noticed about the comments is how many of you don’t have a picture by your name. For those wondering why, it’s because you haven’t signed up for one. All you have to do is go to Gravatar.com & sign up. It’s super simple and your picture will start showing up all over the internet. Millions of people use that thing for their blog avatars. So, go sign up. Doooo it……

For the first time since The Ol’ Man started driving, I got to talk to him via webcam & voice chat last night. It was so good to see him. But it actually made me miss him more I think. He’s suppose to be home Saturday & that day can’t come soon enough. (I need someone to carry in firewood. Heheee)
Here’s a screen shot I took while we chatted. He’d driven for the previous 20 hours and hasn’t shaved in a couple days so we’ll cut him a little slack on his lack of GQness.
Don’t you love the floating head thing he’s got going on? I guess that’s what happens when you wear a black shirt and you’re bobbing around in the back of a dark truck.

Well, Luigi did have to take the AR test yesterday. And… he failed. That’s the first time he’s ever failed anything in school. I doubt highly that it will have much of an impact on his grade, but we’ll see. He gets to take the test a 2nd time tomorrow. I’m not sure if that wipes out the first grade or if they average it out or what the deal is, but at least he gets a 2nd chance.
The Ol’ Man’s still gone. He called last night and said he’ll be gone until at least Saturday. He’s in California right now and on his way to New York. Then back to Indy… and home to Illinois.
Still working on the community. The coding is still kicking my butt. More than that, the design is wiping me out. The good news is, I did come up with a domain. I hope ya’ll like it.
I have a doctor’s appointment this afternoon. Totally NOT thrilled about that. As far as I know, it’s a surgery consultation about getting my tubes tied but… I’m honestly not sure. LOL How terrible is that? I guess I should call them and find out what I’m actually scheduled for.
ETA: I just finished putting a new layout on Luigi’s site. Maybe that will prompt him to start blogging at least once a week. I really wish he WOULD write something every couple days. Lord knows the boy’s got a more exciting life than I do.

This will be my first post in my new section called Hodgepodge. It’s sort of like Random Thoughts but, I like the word hodgepodge, so I’m going with that. (FYI - I just read this post from start to finish and it was non-stop, who gives a crap jabbering*. I almost bored myself to sleep. I promise not to get mad if you just turn around and run.)
I think I like Spam. Is it spam, Spam or SPAM?
(*This is the only NON who cares part of the post cuz it’s totally awesome!!) I won a prize in a blog giveaway. My very first one ever and I’m super excited!! The giveaway was hosted by Gina at My Very Last Nerve. The prize was a DVD set of the series The Planet Earth. Squeee!! THANK YOU GINA!! I got my prize in the mail today/yesterday and my DVD player is in Arkanas, and I’m in Illinois. Boo!!!
Is it still today since I haven’t gone to bed yet? Or am I now living in tomorrow? Did I just confuse you as badly as I confused myself?
Today was the first time in months that I looked at the stats for my gaming site. I was surprised to see that there were over 300 pages loaded today. It surprises me because I haven’t updated the site or advertised for it in over 6 months.
It doesn’t matter where The Ol’ Man is dispatched to drive. No matter the state, there will be crappy weather. I mean, since when does Texas freeze over?
Gina found some crazy strong bubble-wrap to send my new DVDs in. The kids were fighting over who got to pop it until they realized that their mom couldn’t even get a bubble to pop.
It doesn’t matter when The Ol’ Man is suppose to park his truck and come home. He will always be at least a day late because the people who are suppose to load his trailer like to jack around while he sits in their dock waiting. Arriving early is pointless but arriving late is a death sentence.
Frogger’s swing’s batteries are about to die. I wonder who tied the string to the back of it.
Why doesn’t your nose grow when you inform a child that their nose will grow if they fib?
I could really go for some sPaM right about now.
I’m only kidding about the SpAm.
Noggin (a kid’s t.v. channel) gets really irritating at 1:45 a.m.
It’s 1:45 a.m. and the remote is way over there. *points 4 feet away*
Yesterday, Boogie told me that she liiiiiked me. Then she informed me that she loooooves Daddy. *sigh*
I like blogs with titles that I can relate to & words like snot and booger. For example Wiping Up Snot, A Schmitty Life, Baby Boogers, Idiot’s Stew, Poop on Jelly and Who Put Me In Charge Of These People???
I very rarely link to a site without putting target=”_blank” in the code and it irritates the piss out of me when people disable the right click on their site. I hate hate HATE not being able to right click and “open in a new tab” Why do people do that? There’s nothing on your site that you’re preventing me from stealing just because you disabled right click. Is it your source code that you’re hiding? Trying to prevent me from stealing an image? What is it?? and stop doing it!!!
Someone threw an empty Smarties wrapper on my desk and now I wish I had some Smarties.
