My Beautiful Gift - A Mother’s Quilt

With everything that’s going on around here, I completely forgot to blog yesterday. Shame on me!!
My friend from Colorado is here in “town” because her daughter is about to give birth. No word as of yet if the baby’s been born or not.
She mailed a box ahead of time with gifts for her friends and family. Normally she would just carry them on the train, but she said something about getting old and blah blah… (Ha Ha Becky… you know I love you. *giggles*)
But anyways, I was one of the lucky ones who received a gift from the lovely and talented Crazy Rebecca. When I took Luigi to get his blood test done on Tuesday, I stopped by to see her. And she gave me this…..

It’s a mother’s quilt and each of those squares represents one of my children. There are 2 squares for December, 2 for August and then my little oddball in November. Isn’t it perty? By the way, you can click on it to see it in more detail. It’s meant to hang on the wall and it’s almost as tall as my fridge and… I just love it.
Here’s another that she brought. This one was made for my mom. The top square represents yours truly *smiles* and the other 3 squares are my younger brothers.

My favorite part of these (other than the fact that they represent my family & the fact that my dear friend made them) is how each square is completely different. Even the fabrics within each square is different. Not only visually, but the fabric textures too. They’re just… I love ‘em. LOL
Becky sells these on her Etsy site. I know she puts her heart into everything she makes, but tell her Chris sent you and I’m sure she’ll put an extra bucket of love in it. =D
She’s not home now, as I said at the beginning of the post. But she’ll be back and ready for orders in a couple of weeks. You can use this link to request special orders like the mother’s quilt.
And you know you need a one of a kind doofy hat….

Those are gorgeous!!
*waves at Becky* How’s your daughter? Got a grand baby yet?
She made me a booty bag once as a prize for winning a contest. I LOVE it! I believe anything she makes would be something worth treasuring forever
(lol and again, my math problem has the same answer.. I’m starting to think Chris plans these things)

I love the quilts, what a cool thing. I have a ring that my Mom gave me on my wedding day. Originally it had me & Justin’s stones, then when Sam was born she took it and had him added. I absolutely love it. She has one that has her birthstone, and me and my sister, and an emerald, which used to be for my stepdad but now could be for my husband OR son!
